Scale iron deck truss bridges custom built to size.

Deck truss is a common span used on tall bridges when clearance is not a problem. Such spans are usually not very long. It is a strong design that looks good repeated over and over or used as approach spans for a much larger bridge structure. These were built for a river crossing on my own rail road and have yet to be installed. This is a span of 30". I have engineered spans to stay in proportion to scale. I don’t recommend this style over 48"

 The longer the span the deeper the depth of the truss and the more web bracing is required by standard engineering practices. Some deck spans have been used to span longer gaps but in a scale setting it just seems to make the trains look out of proportion.
